The recent warm, wet weather isn’t doing much for the Blackhawk Golden K’s “Truck on Ice” contest. Spokesman Glenn Disrude says the club is still waiting for permission from the city to place the truck on the Traxler Park Lagoon. He says a look at the lagoon shows the ice has become honeycomb and would likely not support the truck. Despite this, Disrude is hopeful the truck can be placed by the contest’s February 10th deadline, or the raffle will become a simple drawing, rather than a best guess at when the truck will sink. Until then, Disrude says the truck will be moved from place to place to promote ticket sales.
