Janesville police are investigating a gun threat at Parker High School posted on Facebook. Officer say they got a tip at about 7:40 Monday morning and by 8:00 o’clock a 16-year-old girl was being referred to juvenile authorities on a charge of disorderly conduct. The girl told police the threat was meant as a joke, and she had taken down the post. School officials say the district works very closely with the police in such situations. However, the police make determinations about the level of threat and how to respond. An email also indicated the police department did not feel there exists a credible threat, however the student will be facing disciplinary actions.
