The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Rock River at Afton and Lake Koshkonong.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says the National Weather Service predicts the Rock River will continue to rise through Tuesday.
Flooding could cover low-lying areas and farmland near Afton and in parts of the south end of Janesville, and could affect homes on South Christianson Road and Happy Hollow Park.
Flooding could also affect homes and boat landings in the Blackhawk Island area where the Rock River feeds into Lake Koshkonong.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and other local municipal authorities have made sand and sandbags available for pickup at several locations.
