The Jansville Police and Fire Commission is throwing out a malfeasance complaint against the fire chief. Former Fire Inspector Donald “Jeff” Bowen claimed after he resigned form the fire department, Chief Randy Banker lied to police about his mental state. Bowen filed the complaint after he was dismissed as a volunteer from the department’s Boy Scout Explorers Program. The commission wrote in its decision that after several hearings, Bowen had “failed to present substantial evidence” to prove Banker had lied, retaliated or done anything more than provide police an “opinion” about Bowen’s behavior in the last weeks he was on the fire department.
