A 42-year-old man is arrested in Beloit on a federal probation warrant out of Illinois and a felony warrant for second degree sexual assault of a child.
Beloit Police say Raynoldo Mendez was taken into custody around 11:00 Tuesday morning at a residence on the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue.
Officers from Beloit worked with the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force to arrest Mendez after receiving a tip about his location through Crimestoppers.
No one was injured during the arrest, however police says a member of the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force accidentally discharged a firearm in a direction that did not endanger safety.
