The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is lifting the Slow-No-Wake order on two sections of the Rock River. The sheriff’s office said in a news release Tuesday morning that the river has dropped below the levels that trigger the county’s boat-speed restrictions in two areas. The sections are from the Dane-Rock county line to the Indianford Dam and from the Beloit-Rock Townline Road Bridge south to the state line. The middle section of the river remains under the slow, no-wake order, however. Officials say that section must stay under the no-wake order until the river gauge at Afton drops below 6.5 feet. The gauge showed 7.08 feet Tuesday morning. The original no-wake order was put in place February 28th.
