Sheriff Spoden isn’t the only long-time local face of law enforcement announcing his retirement this week.
Deputy Janesville Police Chief Jimmy Holford says his last day working at the police department will be Friday.
Holford was hired by the Janesville Police Department in 1986, was promoted to lieutenant in 2013, and deputy chief in 2014.
During his career, he was one of the founding members of the Janesville SWAT team and supervised the Street Crimes Unit for five years.
Holford says he will miss his co-workers and the sense of accomplishment from his job that will be hard to replicate in retirement.
