(Gazette photo) A man seen sitting on the railing on the Memorial Bridge for an hour Thursday afternoon was loaded into an ambulance at about 3 p.m. while fire department boats patrolled the water below.
The bridge was closed for a little more than an hour.
A Gazette photographer on the scene saw the man who appeared to be speaking with officers and had been sitting and standing on the outside of a bridge railing facing the water.
The Janesville Fire Department rescue boat was stationed downstream near Traxler Park.
