The city of Edgerton appears to be narrowing down the source of possible lead contamination found in routine water samples from three of 20 homes. City Administrator Ramona Flanigan says the first hint of an exceedance of lead in the drinking water was found last fall. Flanigan says the water utility has tested each of its three wells and has found no evidence of lead being delivered through the city’s distribution system. Flanigan says this indicates the problem is most likely coming from old lead joints, lead service lines, or in-home plumbing through old piping and fixtures.
