A Janesville School Board committee narrows the list of applicants for an open seat on the board from three down to two.
The board is looking to replace Ben Dobson who resigned on March 21st after taking a new job requiring a greater time commitment.
The three people who expressed interest in serving the remainder of Dobson’s term are no strangers to the school board.
Dale Thompson served on the school board from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2014 to 2017. Stephanie Rapach ran unsuccessfully for the school board in April of 2016, and Janine Hegle ran unsuccessfully for the school board in April of 2017.
The school board’s Member Appointment Committee on Wednesday narrowed the field down to Thompson and Rapach.
The full school board is expected to review the applications and make a decision on April 24th.
