Rock County Board moves to allow beer sales at fairgrounds

Depending on the event, you might be able to buy a beer soon at the Rock County Fairgrounds.  The county board Thursday night amended a long standing ordinance against the sale of alcohol on the grounds.  Officials admit the motivation behind the change is a desire to increase revenue.  Fairground Manager Brian Paul says a lot of people seeking to rent the fairgrounds have been turned away because they wanted to sell alcohol.  Whether or not alcohol is sold during the 4H fair will be up to the Rock County Fair Association.  President Randy Thompson points out they’re not there yet, but revenue needs could prompt a change in the future.
