A lot of prominent First Congressional District Republicans have already announced plans not to seek outgoing Representative Paul Ryan’s seat, but one name remains. Janesville attorney and businessman Bryan Steil said last week he was seriously considering a run. Just Monday Rock County Republican Party Chair Andrew Iverson issued a statement, “Bryan Steil is reaching out to friends from all six counties and is honored and encouraged by the support he is receiving.” Those backing Steil are expected to include Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave and co-founder of the Racine Tea Party Nancy Milholland. GOP sources tell The Gazette Mary Stitt, who has worked on campaign finances for Ryan, is working with Steil.
