The City of Janesville is apparently finding success in providing tax incentives for industrial buildings that don’t even have prospective tenants yet.
Economic Development Director Gale Price says the City has been in discussions with Badger Property Investments for a 150,000 square foot speculative building at 101 Innovation Drive.
Price says the City would provide that 16-acre site plus a $635,000 forgivable loan. In exchange the developer would build a 150,000 square foot building with a value of more than $5 million.
The City Council will consider approval of the agreement when they met on Tuesday evening.
