Students at Clinton High School accused of dosing classmates with male enhancement drug-laced brownies as senior prank

Clinton Community School District officials are tight-lipped about a senior prank last Wednesday that endangered the health and safety of other students.
A Facebook post from school officials on Saturday reveals very few details about what actually happened on May 30th to cause both medical personnel and Clinton Police to respond to Clinton High School.
The post indicates that privacy laws prevent the district from letting the public know what actually happened, who did it, and what discipline the perpetrators face.
While school officials aren’t saying much, WCLO News was able to contact a parent of one of the victims under a condition of anonymity.
This very credible source indicated that three seniors drugged multiple students at the high school using brownies that were laced with an over-the-counter male enhancement drug.
Several of the students suffered symptoms ranging from a rapid heart rate, to sweating heavily. Two of those students had symptoms that were serious enough that the school nurse had them sent to urgent care where they were later transferred to the emergency room for evaluation due to a risk of heart attack, kidney failure, or liver damage.
Clinton Police investigated the incident and referred the case to the district attorney’s office for possible charges.
Parents of the victims were told by school officials that the perpetrators would not be allowed to participate in any remaining school events including the graduation ceremony Sunday.
Parents were also told the pranksters are scheduled to speak to the student body about the incident Tuesday in during an assembly.
School officials claim that immediate collaborative discussions took place with the families of the victims of the prank as well as the perpetrators.
The lengthy Facebook post goes on to say that the district believes in a restorative justice philosophy which focuses on building relationships and repairing harm rather that simply punishing students for misbehavior.
The post has been shared and commented on dozens of times by parents who are outraged by the district’s response to the incident. Many of the commenters feel the district is being too lenient considering the severity of the situation.
School officials did not respond to a request for comment.
WCLO News will continue to follow this developing story as more information becomes available.
An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the pranksters still walked across the stage at graduation on Sunday.
