Lake Geneva police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 53-year-old man in Geneva Lake. Police responded about 1:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon to reports of a drowning at Big Foot Beach State Park. Witnesses told police they’d seen a man who was about 110 feet offshore and struggling to stay above water. Some witnesses said they’d tried to reach the man, but he went underwater before they could get to him. Emergency responders located the man’s body after about a half hour search. Lifesaving efforts were attempted, but were unsuccessful. Police didn’t identify him Thursday night pending notification of his family.
