Demolition of the former General Motors factory in Janesville is getting a boost from the state. Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch visited the old plant Wednesday to announce a $500 thousand grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. City Economic Development Director Gail Price calls the grant an important step in realizing the potential of the site. Commercial Development Company is currently in the process of razing the buildings to make way for about one-million square feet of space to be used for multiple future industrial and warehouse uses.
