(Gazette photo) Janesville firefighters minimize damage from a garage fire. Firefighters responded to the 1400 block of Canyon Drive a little before 6:30 Wednesday night for reports of a garage fire at an apartment building. Officials say the fire started in a garage attached to the apartment. Firefighters prevented its spread to other buildings. The residents were able to safely escape. The cause is listed as charcoal grill ashes discarded into a plastic trash barrel located inside the garage.
