A 27-year-old Janesville man is facing a list of charges, and a little healing time, after trying to outrun police K9 Fred. Janesville police say an officer attempted a vehicle stop about 8:00 o’clock Thursday night in the 1200 block of Menard Street and the driver took-off at a high rate of speed. Officers say the drive later abandoned his vehicle and a foot pursuit followed. K9 Fred was used to apprehend the suspect. Nathan Hevel was arrested on charges including Obstructing-Resisting an Officer, Operating while Intoxicated, and a Felony Department of Corrections Warrant. Police add Hevel was taken to the hospital for injuries as a result of his encounter with K9 Fred.
