Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra to host patriotic concerts

Pops on the Rock, Beloit’s annual Independence Day celebration, will once again be held from 7:30-9:00 pm at the Harry C. Moore Pavilion on the banks of the Rock River in Riverside Park. Pops on the Rock features the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director, Dr. Robert Tomaro.
This year, your classic favorites such as The Armed Forces Salute, Simple Gifts (arranged by Dr. Crawford Gates), and Sousa’s Stars & Stripes Forever, will be complemented by three movements from John Williams’ Star Wars. Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture ends the concert and is joined by an exhilarating fireworks display.
Pops on the Rock is a free, outdoor, family-friendly concert. Space is limited, and seating will not be provided (bring your own chairs or blanket). Food vendors will be on site. You may bring your own food; however, alcohol is prohibited.
A second patriotic concert is happening for Janesville residents on July 3rd at the Marvin Roth pavilion in lower Courthouse Park.
