Shooting suspect appears in Rock County Court

The 24-year-old Beloit man accused of shooting an acquaintance in the shoulder last weekend makes his initial appearance in Rock County Court.
Attorney Timothy Baldwin entered not guilty pleas on behalf of Christopher A. Barker on charges of disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor battery with use of a dangerous weapon.
Court Commissioner Larry Barton set a $500 signature bond for Barker Tuesday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint Barker’s ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend confronted Barker at his home early Saturday morning because they claim he was harassing them. A scuffle ensued on the porch and that’s when Barker is accused of shooting the victim.
