One of the Democrats running for Wisconsin’s first congressional district seat files a complaint against her primary opponent with the Federal Elections Commission.

Cathy Myers accuses Randy Bryce of using a portion of his campaign funds to pay off a debt to an ex-girlfriend.

The accusations stem from an article that ran in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that questions why Bryce’s $4,200 debt was paid by a legal firm that has represented the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

Myers says there is bipartisan support for getting money out of politics and ending the culture of corruption in Washington, so we need to hold our leaders to the highest standards, regardless of party affiliation. If political donors are paying for Randy Bryce’s past mistakes, all voters deserve to know that

An email from Bryce’s Communications Director says his campaign is focused on talking to voters about the issues in Southeast Wisconsin, and we hope all the candidates in the race for the First Congressional District do the same. We are in construction, not demolition.
