The City of Beloit Police Department is hosting a citywide National Night Out kickoff event at the Harry C. Moore Pavilion in Riverside Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018.
Residents in neighborhoods throughout Beloit are asked to turn on and display outside lights, lock their doors, and spend a positive evening outside with their neighbors.
Personnel from the City of Beloit Police Department and the City of Beloit Fire Department, as well as other community organizations, will be present at the National Night Out kickoff event in Riverside Park. This event is designed to promote police-community partnerships and to strengthen neighborhoods as we work together to make Beloit neighborhoods safer for the whole community.
Organizations that wish to participate in the National Night Out event should contact Lt. John Kaltenbrun by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at kaltenbrunj@beloitwi.gov or (608) 364-6803.
The City of Beloit Police Department will also attend area neighborhood block parties in conjunction with the National Night Out campaign. The application for neighborhood block parties is on the City of Beloit website at www.beloitwi.gov or available at the Beloit Police Department and at the Beloit fire stations. The deadline has been extended until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018. The application needs to be sent to the Beloit Police Department, 100 State St., Attn. Lt. Kaltenbrun, or emailed to kaltenbrunj@beloitwi.gov.
