Fast action by the Janesville Police and Fire Departments likely saved a woman’s life. Fire Captain John McManus says police reported a woman had intentionally jumped into the Rock River at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday. McManus says twelve units responded and launched a boat in the river just north of the Traxler Park Boat Landing. He says the woman was rescued within ten-minutes of the first police report, despite her resistance. She’s currently under evaluation.
