The possibility of a casino complete with a hotel and water park in Beloit is coming closer and closer to reality.
Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Aimee Thurner says the Bureau of Indian Affairs will consider the Ho-Chunk Nation’s application for a gaming facility during an internal meeting on August 17th.
Thurner says the meeting in a little over two weeks could ultimately lead to the application being published in the Federal Register which would move the project forward to the next steps in the formal approval process.
Thurner says in anticipation of the August 17th meeting, officials in Beloit have been seeking written support from Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin.
