(Gazette photo)  Janesville police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Rock River.  Sergeant Aaron Ellis says a passerby reported seeing a body in the water about 2:14 Monday afternoon near the Centerway Dam.  Ellis says police were able to retrieve the body from the western shore with the help of the medical examiner and fire department.  He says it’s clearly a man’s body wearing a jacket, and didn’t appear to have been in the water long.  Currently personnel from the medical examiners office are working to determine the man’s identity and police are contacting area law enforcement agencies about missing persons.
