A local community may have a bit of an international flavor this weekend. Visit Beloit Director of Sales Matthew Bosen says players from around the world are visiting for the U.S. Kubb Open. Bosen says teams will begin showing up Friday night, from as far away as Europe, to take in some of the local sights, with 64-teams competing in Riverside Park Saturday. Kubb is a lawn game with Norwegian and Swedish roots, using wooden batons thrown to topple wooden blocks.
