Janesville residents, disturbed by the look of the Rock River following the removal of the Monterey Dam, will have a chance to help clean-up the shoreline. City Manager Mark Freitag says the effort involves a partnership with the Rock River Stormwater Group, Protect Wisconsin Waterways, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Rock River Clean Sweep initiative is a one-day volunteer river cleanup spanning 320 miles in 34 communities and set for 8?00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8th.
