(Gazette photo) The 48-year-old pilot of an ultralight aircraft may be lucky to be alive after crashing Saturday morning in Janesville.
The Janesville Police and Fire Departments responded to to the crash at the Memorial Bridge just after 9:30 a.m.
The single-person aircraft that consisted of a propeller and parachute was traveling from north to south over the Rock River when it collided with the bridge.
The Janesville Fire Department transported the pilot to a local hospital with critical but non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
