Citizens of Beloit step up to the plate on election day.
City Clerk Lori Stottler says she was able to hire 17 new poll workers in the days leading up to the election last week.
Stottler had warned prior to the election that a shortage of poll worker could have lead to lines on election day.
Stottler says she still has room for more poll workers in November and those who are interested should sign up before October.
