Hedberg Public Library hosts augmented reality scavenger hunt

Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St., will host their first ever  Augmented Reality Scavenger Hunt on Thursday, August 23 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for teens and adults.

The mission, should you accept it, is to find and decipher 10 augmented reality clues hidden throughout the library that can only be seen on your phone or tablet. Participants will compete against others for the chance to win prizes.

“Augmented reality is an exciting new technology that has many possibilities in the realms of education, entertainment and workforce training,” said Rachel Murdock, Innovative Librarian at Hedberg Public Library. “This is a great low-pressure way to explore the possibilities of augmented reality in a way that is just plain fun.”

A limited number of tablets will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may use their own devices using the Metaverse app. Instructions will be provided on how to install and use Metaverse.

No registration is necessary for this free event. Part of our Fresh City Life program series for teens and adults.
