A 38-year-old Janesville man, who video-records local police, has been arrested after using vulgar language near the Janesville Police Department. Police say Aaron M. Oleston was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Officers say this is Oleston’s second run-in with police in three months. The first came May 16, when Oleston refused to move from where he was recording an accident scene at a Racine Street roundabout. Oleston was issued a municipal citation for disturbing the peace under circumstances that tend to cause a disturbance by failing to obey an officer’s request to move. Since then, police say Oleston has been walking around the Janesville Police Department on a regular basis, sometimes for hours at a time. Lieutenant Charles Aagaard tells the Gazette, Oleston knows he can swear at officers and flip them off without being arrested and he makes full use of that. Aagaard says Oleston crossed the line by verbally harassing “off-duty” officers.
