SSM Health will dedicate a new and changing, youth art gallery within its Dean Medical Group Offices in Janesville on Tuesday, August 28. The gallery was developed in partnership with Janesville’s St. William Catholic School and will feature a variety of works created by the school’s student artists.
“SSM Health’s mission to provide exceptional care involves nurturing our community to develop healthy bodies, minds and spirits so we are delighted to be able to showcase the talents of these young artists in a place where so many youngsters and their loved ones can be engaged and inspired by their creativity,” said Rhonda Kosharek, clinical manager for SSM Health’s Janesville’s Pediatrics team.
The new art gallery will be located in the SSM Health Dean Medical Group Pediatrics Area, and throughout the year will rotate works created by the school’s kindergarten through 8th grade students under the direction of their art instructor Cate Kueng.
To launch the new gallery Kueng selected five pieces created by student artist from the school’s 4th through 7th grades. The works to be displayed include: a mixed media piece, a watercolor, an oil pastel and two pencil drawings.
Representatives from St. William Catholic School, the young artists, their parents and pediatric caregivers from SSM Health’s Dean Medical Group will be on hand for the gallery dedication Tuesday between 12:15-1 pm.
