Officials offer flood advice

Janesville officials are putting some preventative measures in place as water levels rise on the Rock river.  Parks Supervisor Ethan Lee says the north end of Riverside Park will be closed until further notice.  Sandbags have also been placed along the east river walkway near Firehouse Park in downtown Janesville.  The Rock County Sheriff’s Office has also renewed warnings against motorists attempting to travel on roads covered by water.  The health department also advises avoiding flood waters because of concerns over bacteria, viruses, debris, and sharp objects.
