Community Action helps low income residents of Rock and Walworth Counties save money on their utilities by working to make their homes more energy efficient.
Assistant Program Manager Michelle Kramer says anyone who is eligible for energy assistance can apply for the free weatherization program.
Kramer says the typical Weatherization Program improvements include: air sealing, attic and wall insulation, replacement or repair of heating systems, replacement of older refrigerators, and energy-efficient lighting.
Priority is given to high energy use homes that are occupied by individuals who are elderly, handicapped, or children less than 6 years of age.
