Animal rescue ordered to pay town’s legal fees in court fight

(Gazette photo)  A town of Janesville couple has been ordered to pay thousands of dollars to the town after a nearly yearlong lawsuit.  Documents filed in Rock County Court show the couple operating A Right To Life Animal and Equine Sanctuary, Porsche and Jonathan Kettelhut, have been ordered to pay close to $12 thousand in legal fees to the town.  Documents indicate the decision comes two months after the court ordered the Kettelhuts to remove two of their eight horses from their property.  The Kettelhut’s six-acre property is zoned for one large farm animal per acre of land.  Porsche said she was “shocked” to learn the amount, calling it “inflated and very padded.”  The court did reduce the amount of legal hours described as unreasonable.  A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up to help the Kettelhut’s pay.
