The earliest unwelcome gift to arrive this holiday season may be a phony “secret shopper”scam. Janesville Police Officer Chad Sullivan tells Your Talk Show on WCLO he’s already seeing victim’s being sent phony checks. Sullivan says the scammers ask the check be cashed, and some of the money returned, but since the check is phony, real money is never deposited in the victim’s account.
