United Way kicks off campaign

United Way Blackhawk Region Officials are kicking off another fundraising campaign with a lot of optimism.  Helping usher in this year’s increased goal of two-point-six million dollars, hundreds gathered for breakfast Wednesday inside the Eclipse Center in Beloit before volunteering for a variety of projects during the Day of Caring.  A record 916 volunteers were slated to complete 117 projects at 44 local nonprofit organizations.  This year’s Campaign Champions are Beloit Health Systems Community Relations Coordinator Regina Dunkin, Janesville School District Superintendent Steve Pophal, and Community Action Director of Planning and Development Mark Perry.
