The cities of Janesville and Milton may be looking for a new fire chief. The Janesville Police and Fire Commission will be considering Randy Banker’s resignation when it meets Wednesday afternoon. The agenda item classifies the resignation as a retirement from the fire service. The announcement comes at a time when the firefighter’s union is involved in a dispute with the city, and the city’s of Janesville and Milton are moving forward with plans to consider building a joint fire station. Banker began his duties in Janesville in January of 2016.
