Construction crews will begin tearing out the Milwaukee Street bridge in Janesville on Monday.

City Manager Mark Freitag says motorists will need to take the Centerway bridge, the Racine Street bridge, or the Court Street bridge to cross the river during the duration of the project.

Freitag says while the bridge is under construction, some parking will be eliminated on the east side of the river when the construction company will have it’s staging area.

The $5.7 million project is expected to wrap up on June 30th of next year.
