The future will include a lot of history in downtown Janesville. Blackhawk Community Credit Union CEO Sherri Stumpf says the financial institution’s new headquarters, to be built along the river, will pay tribute to the legacy of General Motors workers. Stumpf says plans for a new four-story headquarters near South Water and East Van Buren Streets reflects the company’s confidence in the city’s resiliency following the closure of the GM manufacturing plant. The 30-million dollar investment announced Friday afternoon will include a four-story, 130,000, mixed use building housing a Legacy Center, conference center, UW-Whitewater classes, retail, daycare, and 12 condominiums.
