The city of Janesville is warning residents about individuals posing as city employees.
City officials say city assessors have been traveling through neighborhoods leaving notices on doors for homeowners they haven’t been able to reach.
It’s believed individuals are using those notices as an excuse to knock on people’s doors, posing as city employees.
Several residents on the west side of the city have reported incidents to the police.
A spokesperson for the City City of Janesville says City workers will have identification cards with their photo and the City logo and many, if not all will be driving a city vehicle.
