With the first wintry weather mix in the forecast, Janesville Operations Supervisor Kamron Nash says the roads are already being prepped for the potential of slippery conditions. Nash says workers have been spreading a brine mixture they lovingly refer to as “beet juice”. The mixture is spread on roads to inhibit snow and ice development, particularly on hills and other problem areas. Nash says most of the city work trucks have been converted from their summertime use to be ready for snow and ice removal.
