The American Red Cross is urging donors to turn out for a blood drive in Beloit Tuesday afternoon. Red Cross Officials say they’re facing a sever blood shortage. During September and October, the Red Cross collected more than 21-thousand fewer blood and platelet donations than what hospitals needed. Officials point to fewer blood drives this fall, and hurricanes Michael and Florence preventing blood drives in those regions. A blood drive is planned this afternoon from 1:00 until 6:00 at the People’s Church on Grand Avenue in Beloit. The next area blood drive will be Friday in Milton at Saint Mary’s Center on Parkview.
