A Walworth County sex offender with a penchant for child pornography is arrested on new charges.
29-year-old Anthony M. Schmidt of Lake Geneva was first convicted in 2014 of possession of child pornography and is required to register as a sex offender for life.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office says Schmidt was arrested again this week in Elkhorn on new child porn charges following an investigation by the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Schmidt also faces a probation violation and a sex offender registration violation.
He’s currently being held at the Walworth County Jail.
