An altercation over a barking dog leads to the arrest of two Janesville men.
Janesville Police say an officer heard a gun shot in the area of North Atwood Avenue and East Wall Street just after 1:30 Sunday morning.
Additional officers responded and found 33-year-old Matthew A. Burr and 49-year-old Eugene D. Harp fighting in the area.
Investigation determined that Harp was taking his dog outside when Burr, who was walking by, got upset the dog was barking.
The two got into a physical altercation and at some point Harp displayed and fired off a gun.
Both suspects were arrested. Burr is accused of substantial battery and Harp is accused of intoxicated use of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
