The debate over liquor licenses for wedding barns rages on in Wisconsin.
Tavern League Government Affairs Director Scott Stenger was on “Your Talk Show” on WCLO and said these stipulations are needed to keep alcohol sellers on a level playing field.
Stenger said these types of businesses are currently unregulated when it comes to alcohol, smoking, liability insurance and disability requirements. He specified that any new legislation would not affect private citizens or tailgating.
Critics say the Tavern League is just looking to hurt their competitors by requiring liquor licenses that can be expensive.
Republican lawmakers tried to pass a bill to require liquor licenses last month, but it failed in the Senate.
