The Ho-Chunk Nation tried to ease citizens’ concerns over the potential downsides of a proposed casino in Beloit.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs held a public hearing Tuesday night and Beloit residents were wary of increased addition and crime.
City staff and members of the Ho-Chunk Nation expressed support for the $405 million project.
The proposed casino could generate 1,500 jobs in the area, but concerned citizens felt the city is growing fine without it.
