The Rock County Department of Human Services secures more funding for treating opioid addiction.
Outpatient Program Manager Amanda Lake says the county received more than $71,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for their medication-assisted treatment program for people released from incarceration.
She says there was previously a gap in their ability to treat some of the higher-risk individuals, and this method is known to be most effective.
The grant lasts until next June and is expected to help at least 25 people over that time span.
Neighboring Walworth and Dane counties also received funding from the grant.
