City of Janesville receives state funding for new buses

The City of Janesville has good news for residents who use the transit system.
They’ve received $1.2 million in funding from the state of Wisconsin that will cover 80 percent of the cost for three new buses.
City Transit Director Rebecca Smith says all 17 of Janesville’s buses are eligible for replacement, and they’ve secured funding for 14 in total.
The city is aggressively exploring grants to finish out the transition.
Smith says the new buses will feature improvements to accessibility for disabled passengers.
