A Janesville stabbing suspect is fighting his charge of first-degree attempted homicide and use of a dangerous weapon.
28-year-old Shedrick Baldwin plead not guilty at his arraignment Friday.
According to the criminal complaint, Baldwin stabbed 32-year-old Ladale Johnson three times back in July, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
Baldwin eluded arrest for nearly four months after the incident until police arrested him in Racine in November.
According to the criminal complaint, he sent the victim threatening text messages prior to the incident because he was upset about Johnson’s relationship with a woman.
Baldwin is being held at Rock County Jail on bond of $100,000.
